awesome weekend...

Well I'm on the downward slope of my cold. I stayed in bed ALL day on Thursday. I only got up to go to the bathroom and get food. Speaking of food, someone in the library is eating and smells delicious... mmmmmm.... anyway my cousin Joel was up this weekend from AZ and so we hung out Friday night and all day yesterday. He invited me to go to see Pink Panther with him and his friends tonight but I have study plans with Hannah that I can't pass up. Oh and guess what I'm done with pediatrics clinical forever!!! YEAH!!!!! I hated that clinical!
This week is busy with two papers due and all that. I'm dwelling on the possibility of coming up to WW this weekend but I don't know if I have to work Friday or not so I have to check into that. Does anyone read this site anymore? I know Sonja does faithfully, but does anyone else?
Anyway, I'm going to home and get some dinner. TATA!

blasted cold virus!!!

It has attacked and finally succeeded, that blasted cold virus!! Luckily my good friend Hannah has supplied me with the essentials of liquid day and nyquil. Luckily I have clinicals starting at 9 tomorrow rather that 6:30 or I would really be in a bad spot. I feel like crap! But it's ok, because it's not a total loss. I have lots to be thankful for! For instance this week is almost half over thanks to President's Day!
Wow I have two major term papers coming up and I have yet to start either of them. Scary eh? I'm usually on top of these things. Oh well. I watched a movie with friends today and I played all weekend so HA! Screw you school! Just kidding...
Anyway, I really enjoyed having people home for the weekend. I liked the bowling and the going out to eat. Thanks for a fun time everybody! It was sad to see everyone leave though. I'm tired of being left behind. It feels so lonely to be the only one here while everyone gets to go back to WW and be together. Oh well, I only have one more year of this left and I'm done!
Good night everyone, I'm going to go drug myself now!

Happy late Valentine's Day

So the day has come and gone quickly without too much excitement. It was a regular class day. The exciting part was my 15 minute free massage in the dorm lobby and of course the chocolate fountain with fruit to dip in it. Then Hannah came over and we watched Must Love Dogs. I love that movie, it's so cute. Didn't get to see Brett obviously since we're four hours apart and didn't get to talk to him much either. Oh well, life goes on. I know he loves me.
My bank account is empty. How awesome is that? It's never happened to me before. I wont get paid until next Friday so I have nothing to last me til then. Great isn't it? I hate being poor...
I know it may seem like I'm being rather glass-half-empty today. I'm sorry. I don't know why I feel down. I just do. It's even sunny today but instead of going on a walk all I want to do is curl up in my warm bed and sleep the afternoon away. Is that so bad?
I'm supposed to be meeting my cousin Kathy this afternoon but who knows if it will actually happen. She's driving from Pendleton and wont get here til 2:30-3:00 and her plane leaves at 5:00. So I probaly wont be able to spend much time with her.
Linz is coming tomorrow! Can't wait to see her!
There's a new Lost tonight. There's something to numb my mind with later. If only is was on right now...
There are only 2 1/2 weeks of clinical left this quarter. I can't wait to be done. I like the OB clinical but not the pediatrics. It just intimidates me because the floor is so big and there are so many people I don't know. On the OB unit I know almost all the nurses names and the doctors are all the same every time so it's more familiar.
Anyway, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I saw Lynae Moor this morning. She was the nurse in the C-section I got to observe so I got to talk to her for awhile which was nice. I also got to see her last week and she showed me Ryan's wedding pictures. They had such a lovely wedding. And they used red, white, and black which I LOVE! It was so wonderful and they looked so happy!
Anyway, I think I might go snuggle up and read my book until my dad get's here to pick up some stuff. I hope you are all having a good day. Enjoy the sunshine! I hear there was snow in Yacolt today!

Here is a quick update before my next class begins. I went to WWC this weekend for the tournaments and it was a lot of fun. The girls got 2nd place and the guys got 3rd place which is awesome and I'm so proud! Also a few of our guys were scouted by the great Coach, hehehe. I think it's great! Anyway, so I got to hang out with friends, Brett, and Brittany which was all nice.
Last night I went to the Barlow Girl/Rebecca St. James concert and I thought it was really great. There could have been more Barlow Girl in my opinion. They were only a portion of the concert and they only played for an hour. Oh well, they played my favorite song.
Rushed to my parent's house after it to watch Grey's Anatomy and got home at 11:30. I'm so tired today. I can barely keep my eyes open in class... I'm going to bed early tonight!!! Well, that's the plan anyway... I hate being tired and dehydrated.
Anyway, I hope that everyone had a good weekend. Can't wait to see everyone next weekend for the sno frolic weekend!

I'm going to Walla Walla with my sis this weekend and I'm looking forward to that. I'm just really excited about this job!!!
Anyway, I don't have much to say and I have to move on to the next busy thing in my life so I just wanted to drop in and say hi to everyone!!
*hugs*

Life is full of surprises

Wow, what an exciting week so far! This weekend was great getting to hang out with family and friends. The hot tub was really nice, and all the food... wow! And of course to top it off the Seahawks are in the Superbowl! YEEEAH! I went and bought an Alexander jersey today, WHOOT WHOOT! I'm soooo excited!
Oh and for sure I'm going to Camp Akita for a month. Wow it's just so cool how this is all coming together! I even have a pic of the camp as my desktop. It really is a gorgeous landscape. I can't wait to take pictures of the nature around it.
So lately I've been getting my passport ready. I went it and got pics taken today for it and filled out the forms. Tomorrow I take it all in for the renewal. They don't let you smile in the pics anymore, so my pic looks kinda silly. Oh well I only have to look at it for the next ten years. Then I realized that it 10 years I will be thirty and that just is freaky!
So, I have TWO midterms the day after the superbowl. Crazy, eh? Obviously there was some bad planning going on there. So I'm going to start studying this Sunday and study all week so that I wont have to study at all on Sunday. It will work out, I know it!
There are some people working on the drive way across the street here. They are so annoying making so much noise. Also none of them are wearing reflective gear and they don't have any lights up and it's pitch black out so people are driving by and almost hitting them so they keep yelling at cars as they drive by. Silly contruction workers!
Ok, well I hope everyone is having a good week. Love you all!

Busy decision making!

Wow the past few days have been a blur of babies and decisions! By babies I mean OB and the NICU (which I love and want to do my practicum in!!!) and the decision? Well do you want the long story or the short form? For the sake of your dry eyes reading this computer screen I will give you the short version.

I'm going to be working at Camp Akita from June 8-July 11. I will then fly home and pack quickly for my two and a half week long mission trip to Jamaica. Then I will be fly back from that and work as a CNA for the rest of the summer. Somehow God has allowed me to be able to have all three of the experiences I wanted to have this summer. God is good! All the time!

Today I didn't have classes so I went to be at 12:30 and woke up at 11:30...yeah that's awesome eh? I never sleep in!! It felt so good and I'm still in my Pj's, hehe. I was going to write my art paper but since the super bowl is TWO weekends away I am going to work on it next weekend instead of today. Instead I'm going to finish filling out my application to OHSU.... could there be another exciting adventure in Briana's path? We will wait and see.

Tonight me and two of my friends are going up to my parents house to soak in the hot tub and hopefully eat dinner too. I can't wait! Even though I feel hidious in a swimsuit I will stll do it!
It's sunny but yet it's raining. That's kind of cool. I'd rather have it do that then pouring and cloudy and ugly out. The girls are hoping for rain tonight in the hot tub anyway, hehe.

Well I hope you are all at the end of a lovely week and ready to relax in the Sabbath. Have a great weekend!

so busy, updating just doesn't happen

Here I am sitting and watching the GG just as LOST wins best TV drama!!!!! WHOOOOOOHOOOOO!!! Yippee!!! Also even though I don't really desire to see Heathe and Jake in man-on-man sexual relations since Brokeback Mountain won so many awards I must see it!
Life has been soooo incredibly busy for me. I barely have time to just chill like tonight while I'm watching TV here. But this last weekend was the perfect break from it all. I went up on Thursday night with Missy and spent some quality time with Sonja before Brett got out of class. I got to see my sis and my parents too which was really nice! It was just great relaxing time and time spent with friends and my honey.
This morning marked the beginning of another busy week. Nursing school is rough, no kidding, but it will be worth it in the end. I've been offered so many mission trips it's just awesome. This summer there is Jamaica, the possibility of working at camp Akita or perhaps going on the Mexico mission trip, the Phillipeans next Christmas, and next summer an opportunity to go to Fiji. It's all so exciting!
Lately I've been trying to get a job. I was pretty much hired for an agency that hired CNA's and caregivers but I'm going to try at OHSU first because they pay more. So I'll let you know when I get something. Finding a job is so important. When you're a student it's so important to find something that pays enough so that you don't have to work too many hours. My room mate works so much I never see her and I'm surprised she isn't dead somewhere from fatigue! If I could work just one 12 hour shift a week I would be a happy girl!
Anyway back to bed and the Golden Globes. Yay for Felicity Huffman!! Gotta love that girl! She's my favorite DH!
Good night!

Oh weekend please stay!

This weekend was great. It was relaxing and fun! I went up to my parents on Friday night and made some chex mix from scratch. Then us girls played Texas Hold 'em for like three hours with chips and oh it was soooo much fun! I wish we could have a poker night every week or at least once a month! Sabbath morning I had to get up super early because I was singing with Rob's praise group at Oasis. It went pretty good but I was feeling it more during the practice than up front. I always enjoy doing it though. Then my family went to the Thai Orchid for lunch and it was oh so yummy! When I got home I laid on the couch with quilt and the fire going and read the first few chapter of The Horse and His Boy (3rd book of the Narnia series). So far it's pretty good! After playing a couple hands of Screw Your Neighbor with my sis and dad, Britt and I headed down to meet Amanda at the Mall 205 Red Robin for a light dinner and than head to Moltnomah Bible College for the WWC boys b-ball game. It was fuuuuun and we won 97-79. It was awesome and fun to watch some ball. Oh how I have missed it. I wish the Portland campus had a hoop here somewhere, but alas we don't. My parents have a hoop though so I guess I could go shoot up there on the weekend sometime. There's just something therapeutic about shooting hoops and layups. Anyway, then Britt and I went back to my house after buying a new DVD player at Fred Meyer (mine died...) and watched Fever Pitch and SNL. SNL was a rerun but we watched it anyway because it was with Eva Longoria and we love her. Speaking of which there is a Housewives episode on tonight that I haven't seen yet, yippee!
I have a lot of reading to do today and I'm working at the library from 1-6 so that's where I am right now. There are no students in the library right now, none. I brought my ipod like I always do to keep me company as well as my tuna fish sandwhich, diet coke, and my textbooks. Oh the life of being a nursing student!
Anyway, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Clinicals will be challenging but FUN

So we have been going through two days of clinical orientation this week. Wednesday we talked about Labor and Delivery clinicals at the Family Birth Place at AMC and today we talked about Pediatrics at Emmanuel. Guess what?? I get to spend two Thursdays in a row in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)!! I'm so psyched because this is something that I'm actually interested in for my career path!
And more exciting news: I have a job interview next Tuesday for a caregiver position!!! Me and two other girls called today because we were referred by one of the seniors! The lady pretty much hired me over the phone. It's $10 and hour which is less than a CNA but this sounds more flexible to me and I am hopefully going to try and get every other weekend, maybe Thursday evening shift too. YAY!
This week is going by fast. Tomorrow I get to sleep in til 9:00 because I don't have to be anywhere until 11. It's going to be great! So I've been doing the whole homework thing and now I'm just kind of watching TV while waiting for my friend Hannah to come over and work on Religion homework with me. It's nice having a Religion class. I really need some spiritual help and who better to help than Pedrito!!
Anyway, hope everyone is enjoying their week. Does anyone know when The OC and Lost and Desperate Housewives starts again?
Love!

Goals

So I haven't broken my goal yet. I just finished doing my pilates and though I still feel the spare tire of holiday around my middle section it felt good to get some exercise in. For some reason I've been wanting to eat like all the time. It must because of my horrible habits over break, AHHHHHH! So I am trying to distract myself with other things! Like homework...oh what a concept! I'm going to have quite the homework load this quarter. But it's ok, I don't mind being a little busy. I'd rather be busy then just sit around, well unless I was sitting around with my friends or with my honey... yeah anyway!
I thought I would just put a little blurb out there before I get on to the homework part of my evening. But oh wait Christina is coming over to see my house, yay! I love having visitors! Ok bye! Love you all!

Back to the grind...

Well vacation is over and school is on again. I had a wonderful break full of seeing friends and spending time with Brett and my family. I worked most of the time but that's ok, I had a few days in which I got to relax. New Year's was everything I hoped for.
I don't usually make resolutions and I'm really not but I have a goal. Well I try to set fitness goals for myself all the time but I usually fail after awhile. I have a workout calendar set up for this month including Pilates, walking, crunches, stretching, and push ups. I hope to stick with it! I really need to get fit for summer and it's going to take awhile for sure.
Today was the first day back to classes. Monday's are busy for me. I have class from 8-6 with two hour long breaks in between. So it's been a long day. You'd think I would want to go sit on my bed and relax after class but I really want to do something with friends. I've always been that way though. I can't stand sitting around when I know people are doing something.
I'm really going to enjoy having Friday's off this quarter. I'm already making plans for this Thursday night even though I do have orientation on Friday. Becky and I are going to hang out! YAY!
Anyway, I have ten minutes to blow here while I'm waiting for a class to start. Oh wait, no it's an hour and ten minutes! ARG! I could have gone home! Oh well... these breaks suck. I wish I just had class the whole time! Perhaps I will go get a snack at the cafe because I will be starving my 6:00 when my class gets out.
OK well good luck to everyone in the first day back and everything else new!

Last few days....scary!

I don't want break to end! I only have three days of break left not included today. Ick! This week has been mostly good since the cat incident on Monday. I've been mostly relaxing. Watching movies, TV, playing World of Warcraft - yes I am addicted, but luckily the game is not my account so I wont be able to play forever...hehe. Last night Sonja and I got together to go to the mall so I could get an ipod cover but they didn't have any that I wanted... We watched The Emporers' New Groove. I love that movie!

I got tomorrow off so I can go up to the snow, YAY!!!

I'm dehydrated, I need to drink more water bad! My lips are all chapped and my skin on my face it dry... that's winter for ya!

OK so I don't have anything more to write...sad...

Merry two days after Christmas

Hi everyone! I see that several of you have posted wonderful things about your Christmas'. I had a wonderful time. Sabbath Brett's family and Alyssa's family came over for a huge lunch! Alyssa has the cutest puppy ever. It's a cross between Shitzu and Jack Russel Terrier. Then my family went over to the Will's for dinner. Then Christmas day my family did our stockings, then ate a huge breakfast, then opened gifts. I got several track jackets, a fleece jacket, a sweater, a base (the alarm clock kind) for my ipod, cd's, dvd's, chocolate, a desktop shredder for my confidential documents, hehe, ...it was a great Christmas. After we opened presents and got ready my family went over to Brett's house for lunch/dinner. All his aunts were over there and it was cool to see them all again. So as you can see I ate ALOT over this last weekend. Ugh... But it was worth it!
And then there was last night... Brett and I got ready and got into the car to go out after a day of laying around watching TV and him playing WOW. I was excited because we were going just the two of us, yay! Ok so we made a stop at my house in Portland first because he had brought his external hard drive with a bunch of TV shows and music on it. So we were up in my room and I went to sit on my bed while he was fiddling with my computer and I look down at my bed where a couple of my favorite tops were laying. And there is this giant pile of cat shit! Immediately my blood begand to boil! How dare that cat shit on my brand new $250 Ralph Lauren duvet cover!!! And then I looked closer and saw the shredded holes the bastard and dug prior to shitting and I hit the roof. I was so pissed off! I bolted out of the house and sat on the steps til I cooled down a little. If I would have found that little shit I would have killed him! So I left my room mate a note since it's her stupid cat, making sure it didn't sound as angry as I felt... and we took my duvet cover. But I was so angry. My duvet cover is ruined. It took several hours for Brett to cheer me up. We went to Pioneer Place and shopped around, ate dinner, and then went to see Fun With Dick and Jane which was a really funny movie. It's been so nice to have Brett home. I really miss him so much when he's away at school.
This week I'm working every day from 10-3. Not too bad of hours, and I don't have to dress up because the office is closed. It's just us phone girls back here. I brought the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia that Brett got me for Christmas. It's getting pretty good. The Witch is already trying to take over the earth!
Again I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Does anyone have any cool plans for New Year's? It's one of my most favorite holidays so I want to do something cool.

No one is updating...

I have checked LJ frequently hoping that someone else would have updated so that I wouldn't have two in a row, but it's not happening and I'm bored at work so I'm going to update again, hehe!
This week is going well. I have been working every day so I've been having to wake up early. Monday afternoon I got a call from Justin. Hadn't heard from him in awhile. Apparently he had been sitting in front of my house and was wondering if I was there so he could say hi. Well I was obviously at work so he said that if he was still in BG or Vancouver after 5:00 that he would call and stop by. Well my phone was in my car when I got to my parent's house so I didn't get any calls so I was kind of surprised when we walked in the front door. But we had a nice conversation and Sonja, Britt, Grant, and Brett all showed up eventually so it was fun! It was good to catch up. Then Sonja, Grant, Brett, and I battled it out on MK4. I haven't played that game in so long. It seems like everytime I play I have to relearn moves. Oh well it was fun!
Last night my sister and I headed down to my house to pick up some more clothes for me and one of the packages of Christmas presants I was waiting for. I'm still waiting for one. Blasted USPS!!! Then I went over to Brett's and we watched My Boss' Daughter. It wasn't quite as funny as I had remembered and I was pretty sleepy too. I don't know why I'm so wiped out all the time.
I'm giving blood tonight after work. And then meeting the girlies (and Grant) for ice cream and a movie. YAY! I can't wait to see The Family Stone. I'm really looking forward to it!
Anyway, I have five minutes left at work and I'm going to keep typing until they pass. MUHAHAHAHA!! Those who are bored like me must desire something to read, right? Has everyone finished their Christmas shopping? I have except for the one package I'm still waiting for. It feels weird that Christmas is like four days away. It doesn't even feel like Christmas to me. Maybe because I'm working. That could be it. I haven't really had any relaxation time yet. Sabbath I will get to sleep in until 9:00. That will be good enough for now.
Two more minutes... the phones have been rather slow today. And I manages to screw up at least twice today. Way to go Briana! I really want a massage, and a pedicure, and a manicure...I want a pamper day!!! Too bad it costs so much to do. I've decided that my senior grad present to myself will be laser hair removal. I can't wait!!!
Well I'm outie! I'm gonna go give blood at the red cross, WHOO!!! Suck me dry vampires!
KK, buh bye for now!

Snow storm

It sure has been great to be home for Christmas break. And it was so wonderful to have Linz up here for a few days. I loved having everyone together to see her and hang out.
Yesterday I was drying my hair and getting ready to go down to my house to grab some more clothes when my dad came rushing in saying it was snowing and that if I wanted to go I needed to go right away. So I put my pj's on and grabbed a coat and was out the door. So this trip back and forth from my house in Portland usually takes 45 minutes total. Last night it took me FIVE FRICKIN hours because of the snow and traffic. Luckily I took my dad's explorer or I would have been stuck. There were so many jackasses out on the road. I was so stressed out. My fight or flight mechanisms where in complete opperation. I felt like I was going to vomit! Anyway, the important thing is that I got home safely.
So I've been working at Will Vision today and Friday and I'll be working here all this week and next week. This morning I got called in to help prep patient's because one of the girls had some weather delays. So that was cool. I didn't have my scrubs though cuz they are at my Portland house. So I did it in my dress clothes.
Right now I'm nursing my Caramel Machiatto and checking the internet. The phones are kind of slow this afternoon. Oh well!
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a pleasent break. TTYL!

Finals week

Oh the dreaded three days of tests! One down and two to go! You can do it Briana! The only problem: I have zero motivation. I'm tired, and brain dead. I can't wait for Wednesday to be over cuz that means I can either take a nap, hang out, watch TV til I fall asleep... the options are endless! And on Thursday Amanda comes home! I seriously CANNOT wait!! I miss her sooo badly! I'm also getting a cavity filled on the day, but let's look at the possitives here. And then Friday is my first day of work during break and plus Brett comes home, yay! I'm excited to not have any studying or hw for two and a half weeks. It will be heaven on earth for me!
I'm home alone tonight. Nat already left for Cali and Heather is working til 2 am. SO I'm going to get ready for bed and hit it cuz I'm super sleepy and can hardly function properly. I didn't go to sleep til 1 this morning and then got up at 7 to read through my notes. I could really use a sleep in day. You know one of those days where you know you have NOTHING to do so you don't feel guilty at all just laying there for hours... *sigh*
I wish I could update more interesting information, but alast my life here in Portland is rather boring. I'd say my summer life is more interesting...
Anyway, good luck to everyone on their remaining finals. Deep breaths everyone! *hugs all around*

My attempts to study have not been very effective. However I did get through two sections tonight with Hannah and Tatiana. Then I talked to Brett for awhile, which was nice. I miss him so much. I can't wait for Christmas break! Then the girls and I watched The Scarlet Letter. I can't believe it's been four years since we had to watch it in Junior English with Byers. Time has flown! I liked the movie even though it's a horrible story.
Tomorrow is the all day study session for me. I believe Heather's friend Amy is coming over to study so I'm going to attemp to study with them and get together with some others later. It's really hard to study for two nursing finals at once. Lucky for those of us in Acute, it's covering the same diseases that Patho is. So there is a lot of overlap.
I feel rather hyper and don't feel like sleeping. What I feel like doing is snatching Brett away from Walla Walla and going up to the mountains to frolic in the snow!
I went to the dentist today and unfortunately I have a cavity... great!!! So I get to spend my first Thursday of break getting shots and walking around with a numb mouth. Gosh I hate this part!
I'm hungry. That's weird for almost 1:00 in the morning... no I'm not high! ;-) hehehe, just hyper. But I'm not going to eat because I had really weird dreams last night after eating late.
Ok, yeah I'm going to sign off now! Buh bye!

weekend at home

It really is good to have a weekend at home, and by home I mean my parents house. This week was rather sour for me and on Friday the straw broke that camel's back when my windshield wiper broke in the pouring rain. After two guys from my nursing class fixed it I went home and crawled into bed. I went up to my parents house because I couldn't take being alone anymore. My mom made me a grilled cheese sandwhich and we played Dutch Blitz for hours. I went to bed early and finished this good book I've been reading. Sabbath I went to Oasis and then went with my parent's to some people's house for lunch. There was a large group of adults there but it was fun. McNabb told me the story of how Brett got his super_skier name. Silly boy, we laughed and laughed! Then I sat around the house for awhile until I couldn't stand it anymore so I went down to my house and grabbed some things before meeting Natalie at the BG Cinema to see Walk The Line. I really liked it! It was a sad story and I feel bad for his wife and kids, but it was well done! Then I watched Jumanji and SNL. The guy who hosted was a comedian or something, he sucked! His opening act was sick and stupid! But the rest of the show was ok. Today I've been working on homework off and on and just laying around. I cleaned out my old room except for my drums, the eliptical, and a bunch of Brittany's stuff. Riley pissed in there cuz I shut him in while all Britt's friends were showing up to get ready for the banquet. ARG!!! So I've been working on cleaning that mess up.
I'm heading down to my house pretty soon and then I will go work out with Lindsey. I feel pretty fat because I've eaten only crap today. Oh well. Life is short and the M&M's looked good ok!
This week is dead week. I'm all caught up on my homework, I believe so all I have left to do is study. I'm not going to start until tomorrow. I just don't feel like it today. Maybe I'll read through some notes once. I can't wait to get this quarter over with!!!
Anyway, back to cleaning. I love and miss you all!

Here's something to think about it. My mom sent it to me:
This is true for all of us.
As we grow up, we learn that the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once, and it's harder every time.
You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend.
You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt, because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you always know they are there.

So I lied, I will update again today...

Well my clinicals for Acute are over forever (unless I fail the class which I doubt). It felt good to leave. I wont have to go to the hospital for clinical for like a month and a half which is nice. Won't have to wake up at 5:15 for over a month unless I go snowboarding. Did I already say that in my last post? Oh well if I did, who cares!
My clinical group went to Red Robin after we got out of clinical at 11:00. I had the oriental chicken salad and it was tasty. I also had some fries. I have to say they have my favorite fries. Forget McDonalds and BK, I love RR fries dipped in ranch!! YUM! Then I went to Starbucks and got my yummy double tall nonfat peppermint mocha with no whip. YUM!
I had to meet with my race and ethnic group this afternoon. I can't wait to get our presentation over with tomorrow. I've been practicing it in my head kind of. When I get home I will practice it out loud. I'm working in the library right now. That is until 7:45 when I will be going home to meet Lindsey to watch our shows.
I can't wait for this week to be over because it means that next week will be dead week which will be full of studying and will get over quickly and then it will be finals and then FINALLY it will be Christmas break, WHOOOO! This week has just been a horrible rollar coaster for me. I just haven't been happy. A couple nights ago I just lost it. I have just been so stressed and everything was just screaming in my face, all the things I needed to get done. I just broke down! I'm feeling better now that my clinicals are over and my research paper is pretty much done with. Now all I need to do is the presentation tomorrow, fine tune my paper, type up a work's cited for my poster and then all I will have left to do is study. I plan to have all this done by sundown tomorrow night. Then I can relax on Sabbath and start studying on Sunday earlyish afternoon. Since we don't have clinicals next week I have NOTHING on Wednesday and Thursday which will be nice for studying all day. I have two class finals and a national test which will determine if I can continue in the program. Is that stress or what?? We had one at the end of last year as well. Everyone was freaked out about it but everyone passed. It's pretty much a cumulative test of everything we were supposed to have learned by now in the program. Yeah...
Well here is my encouragement to all those who are going to be going through finals in the next couple weeks. You can do it! I have faith in you!
Much love

There was a snow advisory last night but it didn't snow, so we still have clinical today. I don't really care though because I really just want to get it over with.
This will be my LAST 5:15 morning for about two months and that is sweet!! Well I guess that's if I don't go snowboarding at all over break...
Sorry this is short I am realizing that it's just about time for me to head out to clinical.
I guess I'll update more later. It's so hard to get back on the horse after a week of lying and sitting around. It was hard to see Brett leave again too as well as everyone else. I cannot wait until Christmas break so that I can have a break free from homework. Though I will be working at Will Vision but I want that cuz I need money BAD!

Anyway... I'm working at the library tonight til 10:00. Back to studying!

TG break in a nutshell

What a wonderful week that will sadly be spoiled by going back to my normal stressful routine tomorrow afternoon. But wow, here it is in a nutshell:

Friday: hung out

Sabbath: Oasis, TG potluck, naaaaaaap, hung out

Sunday: washed car, school stuff, Harry Potter marathon #1 until 3 am

Monday: appointment day, Harry Potter marathon #2

Tuesday: Gonorrhea poster day, TG dinner at Brett's

Wednesday: Nursing group project day, War of the Worlds + Lost night

Thursday: Staid in pj's alllllll day and ate a lot, put up Christmas tree, forgot to watch The OC...maybe it wasn't on, oh yeah that's it

Friday: Christina and I hit Target and the malls at 6:00 am!!! Homework, Olive Garden, Peter's house, game night

Sabbath: Sang at Oasis, beef roast...yum, naaaaaap

Tonight is game night/movie night for whoever shows up at my P-town house at 7:00. Then Britt, Brett, hopefully Alyssa, and some others are going out! yeeeah! Anyway, the point is that this week has been wonderful and I don't want to go back to school. I would give anything not to go back. It's just so stressful. But the sermon was full of things I needed to hear this morning and part of it is in the verse below. I hope everyone had a wonderful break and TG. For those of you I wasn't able to see, I'm sorry and I hope to see you during Christmas break which is longer and free from homework!

"That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NLT)

Well I have a royal headache right now. It's bad. Like my whole head is just going to fall off. Is that normal? No, something must be wrong!
I lot has happened this week so far. For one a dear friend of mine is moving away. I'm going to miss her! For two I'm so so so frickin sick of waking up so bloody early to do clinicals!!! I would rather work all night than get up at 5:00. It's soooo hard!
I miss my family a lot. It's a good thing I will be able to see a lot of them this next week. I miss Brett a whole lot. I can't wait to see him again. It's going to be two weeks! Usually we have seen each other every weekend.
Oh and you know what else? I broke my thumb nail off so that hurt like a bitch. AND Riley pissed twice in Heather's room yesterday!!!!! SHIT! I was so embarassed. I didn't know what to say. I went to the store and bought some cleaner to clean it up with... It was sick. I don't know what happened!
Two more days until I get a small break. I have a ton of homework to do over break but at least I can sleep in before I do it, ya know?
Anyway, time to get ready for bed, do some race/ethnic relations reading, watch Lost and hit the hay cuz I'm pooped out! Does anyone else in school feel what I'm feeling??? Show me some love!
Tonight was fun though. Taryn and I went over to Salon in Vogue and got our hair done. It was a nice little salon and she gave me a hand rub and did lip gloss on me after my hair was done. Then Taryn and I drove around Portland lost until we finally found I-5, drove all the way up to highway 14, and down to home. We went to a sushi bar over by Newport Bay. It was so good! It was my first sushi and I loved it! Course I got all vegitarian. There's not way I would eat uncooked meats, especially seafood! ICK! But yeah, it was super good!
Anyway, I'm off!
